I have this for my old Dreamcast but this is definitely a good game to bring to XBLA. Kudo's to Namco Bandai.
Seeing as MGS is a big series (contrary to what some people say about it being niche). If MGS4 already has 6 million pre-orders it's set to outsell both the original MGS and MGS3. It'll probably end up the best selling (and best game) in the series. Can't wait till the main course comes out this June.
I think a good 70 percent of "fanboys'' are fraudulent on the internet. They aren't really extremists at all but rather just like to get under other people's skin that likes a certain product. I know a few people who even claimed as much. The other percentage of that group either are young and doesn't know any better or just really like heated debates.
I agree with this review for the most part. The game is just incredibly fun, the story isn't epic or really explored all that much but the action is well thought out. Even though Dark Sector does do things from other games (namely Gears and Resident Evil 4 with a bit of a twist) it still delivers. It doesn't have it's own "soul" but it does have a freakishly nice human husk.
This is great news for me. I can't wait for mondays when i get home to check out the site and read some info up on MGO and MGS4 some features they'll contain.
Though i'm no fanboy i don't really care about gta4 downloadable content. I think i can sum it up for the majority of people who don't care about it in that the fact is GTA4 will be huge. GTA's has always been long games. I don't want to spend MORE MONEY on a game that's already a big game. Not just that but i'm not in love with gta4 that much to spend more money on top of the 60 bones i spent for the game in the first place. The actual game will be gratifying enough for me whithout the DLC. ...
It's a pretty simple answer, if you have one system you'll get the game for that system. If you're a multiplatform owner then i think it'll come down to (more or less) these 2 things:
1) How much you want that Downloadable Content
2) Which system do you have more friends on to play online

I'm not trying to "find reasons" not to like RE5 i'm just stating by my own eye RE4 looks like a graphically enhanced version of RE4 with a few subtle things thrown in (such as the lighting mechanic which is looking good). Also you touched on something i would like to see, which would be a way to play RE5 without using guns. Just throwing punches or using your knife or something a sort of unarmed mode. As far as what you said about intensity it just looks like it's more enemies onsc...
@Theclosing: I seen that as well but just more zombies with the same type of weapons (or similar enough weapons) as the zombies in RE4 that looked lame. Also they died in the same fashion with the same death animation. Also to your statement that Christ threw a few of his own punches you must have forgotten that leon was able to body slam and kick opponents via the action button when the button arises. I don't know but i'm sort of unimpressed by the wee bit that was shown in that clip. It just looked like a graphically sproused up version of RE4. Now i like RE4 like everyone else but i hope they add enough stuff in it to make it feel fresh. The light mechanic looks great though having your eyes have to readjust to things. Add that in with weather (hopefully dynamic but i doubt it) and that would spark my interest a bit more.
Coexist at the same time. If you seen the Kotaku articles about some of the upcoming features for Games with HOME features it seems spectacular. In Game XMB will be the fast way just to jump into a game, and HOME will be more for pre game stuff etc along with just chatting and checking out your trophies. I think both can fairly coexists. A quick option either way.
I was about to suggest the same thing... But it's still a problemo for 360 only aussie owners who are looking forward to purchasing GTA4. For that reason and others that's why it needs to be a 18+ rating for video games over there in the land down under.
I Love how they point out GamePro using their list for one of their "games this week" articles then having a commenter pointing out they did the exact same thing a year or so ago. How humorous.
There's usually at least a few people with mics on PSN when i play online. I'm glad that 99 percent of the people i hear on PSN isn't A-holes.
MGS4 is my most anticipated game for this year (beating out Fallout3). Every site that got a chance to play it or rather "test it" hasn't said one bad word about it. And now EDGE one of the most hardest to impress game reviewing mag says you're going to love it. I can't wait. Even if this game weren't getting good things said about it how could anyone who's a fan of previous MGS games not buy it? June 12th can't come soon enough.
I actually played the original on the Ps2 and it was a great game. Specially the bit with the hooker and the hotel and the escape afterwards. I was up till 4 in the morning trying to beat that part before school in the morn. Can't wait for this to finally come out, i'm a little skeptical about taking odd jobs for competing families but i have faith that 2k won't mess this game up.
Can't wait for this to come out. I've never played a Fallout game (never had a comp as a kid in the house) so i missed out. But the storyline and some of the announced perks sound cool. Though i preferred one of the perks that didn't win in their fan contest (the one where a random object falls out of the sky onto the opponents head when you're dieing). I hope it has some deep gameplay.

I don't want it to be as doofy looking as it was in Deception and shizz. I think the game characters themselves looked to goofy, same for the fighting. It was fun but just too goofy.
